superb musicianship and artistry come blazing through in these rare and exciting performances of artists and groups of the '60s, '70s, and '80s. these are the international stars that were part of the televised monthly music show beat club and musikladen. filmed in germany at the television studios of radio bremen, musikladen (originally known as beat clut) became a tv classic not only for the fans but also for the artists who took part. there was no time limitation on song length so artists were able to perform live concert versions of their most popular hit songs.
t-rex: spearheaded by marc bolan, a remarkably colorful, unique and talented tunesmith, the group's terrific body of work was bolstered by explosive, technicolor charged guitar riffs framed by bolan's surreal, often nonsensical lyrics. t-rex are cited as the progenitors of the glam-rock movement.
roxy music: these forerunners of the art rock movement provided an elegant and graceful musical soundtrack in the seventies. their distinctive sound was a brilliant distillation of commercially viable art rock stylings and avant-garde sensibilities, all topped off by the dark and seductive voice of bryan ferry.
