    Es ist genauso wie „Lukin“ und „Egischa“ es schreiben. Gehe noch einen Schritt weiter. Nicht umsonst hat B. Wilson den Award bekommen für seine neuen Akkord-Konstrukte und seine neuartige Melodieführungs-Kombinationen. Eines fehlt bei „Egischa“ „A Quick One“ von The Who, als Inspirant für Sgt. Pepper, laut Aussage von P. McCartney. Neue Wegemit Mini Rock-Opern.

    habe nie verstanden was daran so toll sein soll. gehört halt zum guten ton, wenn man pet sounds zu seinen lieblingsalben zählt. vielleicht verhält es sich ähnlich wie bei "citizen kane", der soll ja der beste film aller zeiten sein, aber keiner schaut ihn sich ein zweites mal an.

    Wenn es so etwas wie "intelligente Popmusik" gibt, dann gehört diese wunderbare Musik von Pet Sounds in die allervorderste Reihe.
    Jeder Song eine Perle für sich. Instrumentenkombinationen und Harmonien, welche garantiert für Gänsehaut sorgen.
    Formidabel, herausragend, exquisit! Meisterhaft!

    Im Zusammenhang mit den Beach Boys liest man immer wieder folgende Schlagworte: good vibrations, Surfin' USA und California. Aus dem Bandnamen lassen sich solcherlei Assoziationen unschwer herleiten. Dass die Beach Boys die Popmusik inhaltlich prägten wie kaum eine andere Band vor und nach ihnen gerät in diesem Zusammenhang vielfach in Vergessenheit. Und dabei hat uns doch die Geschichte gelehrt, dass Erinnerungen an vollendete Tatsachen das kollektive Bewusstsein dermassen prägen. Wie also kann man heutzutage die Beach Boys nicht genug würdigen für eines der, ähm, 10 perfektesten Musikalben der Popmusikgeschichte?

    Das geniale Meiserwerk des Brian Wilson von 1965 und wirklich nur mit "Sgt.Pepper" vergleichbar. Harmonisch und melodisch traumhaft schön, sehr eigenwillig,absolut nicht verstaubt, noch immer ein Ohrenschmaus. Auf dieser CD gibts zwei Versionen: Zuerst das Original-Mono-Album und zusätzlich eine digitalisierte Stereo-Alternative von 2000, d.h. 2x 13 Titel plus 1 Bonus-Track "Hang On To Your Ego". Ein 28-seitiges Booklet mit umfassenden Infos ergänzt diese Veröffentlichung.

    Hammer. Eines der besten Popalben überhaupt. Der unten angesprochene Kumpel behauptet immer noch das selbe. Wer Pet Sounds nicht kennt hat ehrlich was verpasst.

    ein meisterwerk, ich liebe aber 'friends' noch mehr, ist bewegender, direkter, einfacher. pet sounds vs. friends ist etwa wie velvet underground & nico vs. velvet underground (3. platte).

    Ein wichtiges Album. Einflussreich wie "Revolver". Ich kenn jemanden, der von diesem Album sagt, es sei perfekt. Das einzige perfekte Album der Musikgeschichte. Ich will nicht so euphorisch sein, aber auch von mir ein "ausgezeichnet".
