Children's animated feature from directors of Anastasia and An American Tail. When German Shepherd Charlie B. Barkin (voice of Burt Reynolds) ends up in heaven without any good deeds to his credit, he tricks his way back to Earth to help a young orphan girl named Anne-Marie (Judith Barsi) to even the score with Carface (Vic Tayback), the gangster pitbull who double-crossed and killed him. The film also features the voices of Loni Anderson, Dom DeLuise and Melba Moore.

Set in 1939 New Orleans, this colorful, song-filled story centers on Charles B. Barkin, a roguish German Shepherd with the charm of a con man and the heart of a marshmallow. Out for revenge against his double-crossing former partner, a cigar-chomping Pit Bull known as Carface, Charlie finds himself guardian to a lonely little orphan named Anne-Marie.
