Description

When Lars` art dealer Ronny arranges a teaching job in a small town as a "therapeutic measure" to stir up his creative juices, things don`t quite turn out as planned. At first, life in the peaceful town seems rosy, as he settles in and impresses beautiful colleague Leslie by taking in the brawny, mute Eddie after his caregiver passes away. Lars soon discovers tha the façade of serenity hides something unimaginable...

Eddie suffers from a rare form of sleepwalking that transforms him from a docile, cereal-obsessed art student into a ravenous cannibal. Initially horrified by Eddie`s dark secret, Lars becomes enthralled by the not-so-gentle giant: at long last, here`s the muse he`d been searching for!

der hauptdarsteller überzeugt in der rolle als inspirationssuchender verzweifelter zu 100%. die story ist subtil inszeniert und eddie muss man einfach mögen!

Dänisch/Kanadische Produktion: da war ich sehr skeptisch am Anfang.
Doch es hat sich gelohnt. Toller Film der alles hat: schwarzer Humor, Drama, Horror, eine Liebesgeschichte. Gut aufgebaut, spannend und sehr gute Dialoge. Die Schauspieler sind bis auf den Maler (den man ihm irgendwie nicht abnimmt) herrvorragend besetzt, vorallem der stumme Eddie!
Negativ ist her die Länge des Films mit 76 Minuten (effektiv, aber ich glaube jede Minute länger, wäre zuviel gewesen), dann haben wir als Extras lediglich der Trailer zum Film (02.09). That's it. Auch interessant ist das Cover, das ich persönlich als sehr gelungen und kreativ betrachte. Alles in allem ist der Film zu empfehlen. 7 von 10 Punkte
