All hell breaks loose when Arnold Schwarzenegger battles the ultimate evil in the supernatural action/thriller, End Of Days. When burned-out former New York City cop Jericho Cane (Schwarzenegger) is assigned to security detail for a mysterious stranger (Gabriel Byrne, Hereditary), he thwarts an assassination attempt. During the follow-up investigation, Jericho and his partner (Kevin Pollak, The Usual Suspects) save the life of a terrified young woman (Robin Tunney, The Craft), whose destiny involves death, the fate of mankind, and the devil himself. Now it's up to Jericho to protect not only the woman, but also his very soul as he comes face to face with the most powerful enemy imaginable.

hie und da sehr unlogisch. aber die atmosphäre stimmt und die action kann sich auch sehen lassen. aber arnie war meiner meinung nach schon damals ein bisschen zu alt um filme in dieser art zu drehen.

Höllisch. Ein absoluter Noldi-Kracher, der es einfach in sich hat. Diesmal wurde nicht so sehr auf Action Wert gelegt, mehr auf die Storyline und der dadurch entstehende Thrill. Die Athmosphäre kommt schlicht genial rüber, hammerharte Gruselszenen, die meiner Meinung nach doch erst ab 18 zu sehen sein sollten. Das Böse ist teils einfach derart gehässig, dass nur Armageddon-Feeling aufkommen kann. Über den Schluss kann man sicherlich streiten, ich fand ihn aber ganz okay. Düsterer Film über den Teufel und den Helden, der die Welt rettet. Unkonventionell erzählt und va. umgesetzt. Die DVD bietet technisch alles, was man erwarten kann. Und für eine BV-Scheibe ist sie auch noch recht gut ausgestattet, schade nur, dass der Audiokommentar der US-Scheibe fehlt. Trotzdem ein Schmuckstück.
