As the United States moves towards sweeping religious reforms, the only person standing in the way is evangelical leader, John Luther. After being framed for the murder of a young girl by his supporters and a United States senator, he finds himself being persecuted in a way never before seen in America. After being released from jail to await trial, Luther sets out to find the truth behind the young girl's death and prove his own innocence in the process. The people who framed him employee ex-military operatives who will stop at nothing to destroy evidence and leave Luther holding the bag.
