Once again Tsukamoto steps out from behind the camera and stars as Tsuda, the archetypal Japanese salaryman, a cog in the machine seemingly cut off from his own being by hours and hours of work. He`s married to polite and compliant Hizuru (Kaori Fujii), the dictionary definition of an ideal Japanese wife. Their life is happy, at least on the surface, at least until Tsuda`s brother, Kojima (played by Tsukamoto`s own real life brother, Kôji) shows up on the scene. As a pro boxer Kôji`s business is violence and even before the proverbial sand is kicked in Tsuda`s face we can already sense the wonder and jealousy with which he views his brother`s transformed body; but once Kojima seduces Hizuru, revealing that he just doesn`t excel at physical violence, but mental and emotional brutality as well, does Tsuda get himself to the gym and into training so he can wreak his revenge with his fists.

Der langweilige und prüde Alltag des Versicherungsvetreters Tsuda und seiner Freundin Hizuru ändert sich schlagartig als der Profiboxer Kojima, ein Schulfreund Tsudas, sich in das Leben des Paares einnistet. Die Dreiecksbeziehung drängt Tsuda und Hizuru in eine sadomasochistische Welt - Eifersucht, rasende Gewalt und Selbstverstümmelung bestimmen ihr Leben und finden im Boxring wie auch im Bett gleichermassen ihren gewaltigen Höhepunkt...

    david fincher hat das drehbuch zu fight club nicht selber geschrieben sonder von einer roman vorlage übernommen...

    Echt man, ich warte seit Jahren das dieser Film endlich entweder auf deutsch oder auf italienisch erscheint aber nichts. Nicht einmal auf französisch gibt es den, obschon die sehr viele asiatische Filme auf DVD veröffentlichen. Echt die Qual. Der Film ist Spitze! Dank solche Filmen liebe ich das asiatische Kino.

    Wer Fight Club mag wird diesen Film lieben! David Fincher hat sich wohl sehr stark an Tokyo Fist orientiert.

    Der Film passt zum Regisseur von TETSUO, GEMINI etc. Ca 3/4 des Filmes bietet eine nachvollziehbare Geschichte: Ehemann bekommt Konkurrenz, ein Boxer, Ehefrau beginnt körperliche "Umwandlung" danke Piercings und Tattoos, während der "Held" seinen Körper auch stetig zur Kampfmaschine ausbildet. In den Tetsuo Filmen geschieht die Umwandlung des menschlichen Körpers auf maschineller Ebene, bei TOKYO FIST geht's um Muskeln, Wunden und Narben. Blut spritzt in extremi, Make-Up total over the top.
