Set in the 13th century, the film follows a group of monks tasked with transporting a sacred religious relic from Ireland to the Vatican in Rome. With danger round every corner, Brothers Ciaran (John Lynch), Cathal (Hugh O'Conor), Rua (Rúaidhrí Conroy), Diarmuid (Holland) and their mute servant (Bernthal) must band together as they attempt to cross a wild and dangerous Irish countryside full of enemies looking to take the artefact for themselves.
