Curiosity develops into voyeuristic fixation as a young writer, Bill (Jeremy Theobald) follows strangers around London to research a novel. After following Cobb (Alex Haw), a well-heeled stranger, who is actually a thief, Bill’s obsession takes a sinister turn. Drawn into Cobb’s world of burglary, prying into the personal lives of victims, he becomes obsessed with an attractive young woman, played by Lucy Russell, an aspiring actress making her movie debut. In Cobb, Bill has found a strange companion, part mentor, part confessor and part evil twin.

    Ein verschachtelter Film über Randexistenzen, ein bisschen wie die New York Trilogy in Bild und Ton. Besser inszeniert als Memento. Dazu sind solche Low-budgetproduktionen sowieso geiler! Die Dreharbeiten dauerten übrigens ein ganzes Jahr, da Christopher Nolan immer nur am Samstag zum drehen Zeit hatte.

    Interessante Thematik aber leider ist die Handlung etwas vorhersehbar. Kommt definitiv nicht an Memento heran. Lohnt sich aber allemal anzuschauen.

    Zuerst mal nicht erschrecken - der Film wurde in schwarz/weiss gedreht, was jedoch nichts an Spannung nimmt.

    Als Liebhaber des Kultmovies "Memento" mochte ich auch bei "Following" die Tatsache, dass man als Zuschauer mitdenken muss, um Handlung, Charaktere und Details zu entdecken und verstehen. Als Strickzeug ruhig weglassen!!

    Bestimmt kein Film, den man so schnell vergisst. Kaufempfehlung!
