Returning to the themes of his classic Sunset Boulevard, director Billy Wilder weaves a noirish thriller of a aging Hollywood goddess and her impossible pursuit of youth in Fedora. William Holden stars as a film producer who travels to the Greek isles to coax a Garbo-like screen idol out of seclusion. But the deeper he infiltrates Fedora`s remote villa, evading an overprotective countless and a mysterious plastic surgeon, the closer he comes to discovering the terrible secret behind the actress`s timeless beauty.

In telling this fable of Hollywood`s faded glory, Wilder reunited with collaborators from some of his greatest successes: Holden (Stalag 17), screenwriter I.A.L. Diamond (Some Like It Hot), and composer Miklos Rosza (Double Indemnity).
