Überraschend gut

Nach vielen Enttäuschungen mit US-Produktionen im Horrorgenre (Ganz schlimm: Scream!) endlich einmal eine Reihe, die auch eine gewichtige sozialkritische Aussage hat. Das Ganze ist perfekt inszeniert und die prophetische Vorwegnahme des Trump-Fachismus (Teil 1 und 2 wurden vor seiner Wahl gedreht) ist erstaunlich.
Leider regiert auch hier das Gesetz der Serie, wonach die Sequels immer schwächer werden. Der 4. Teil (The First Purge) mit der Nicht-Schauspielerin Lena Headey (beherrscht noch immer bloss zwei Gesichtsausdrücke) fällt massiv ab.
