Gladiatorenfilm. Sicher einer der besten Filme überhaupt! Auch heute noch eindrücklich, spannend (über 3 h) und schauspielerisch und musikalisch überzeugend. Sehr aufwendig gedreht (Szenen auf dem offenen Feld), bis ins Detail professionell (Kostüme, Maske)! Kulissen manchmal zu offensichtlich. Trotzdem:

...ja leider ist dieses Epos nicht in der Stanley Kubrick-Edition vertreten. Wieso eigentlich nicht? Spartacus gilt neben Ben Hur als DER Sandalenfilm schlechthin..!! Erst "Gladiator" kommt wieder annähernd an diese Filmklassiker heran.
