Das Drehbuch von "The Main Event" wurde NICHT von Paul Jabara und Bruce Roberts geschrieben, sondern von Gail Parent und Andrew Smith. Paul Jabara und Bruce Roberts hat nur das Lied "The Main Event" geschrieben.

Not one of Streisand 's best...
Disappointing comedy about a bankrupt businesswoman who inherits a retired boxer. She convinces and trains him to resume his career and, along the way, they fall in love. Though "The Main Event" was a box office hit, it 's one of Streisand 's weaker rolls. One saving grace--she sings the medley "The Main Event/Fight" at the end of the movie. The DVD features interesting bonus materials though.
