A man, known only as "the Drifter", murders the outlaw sent to assassinate John McNary, owner of the Canadian Lumber Company. The Drifter falls in love with McNary`s beautiful daughter Bonnie, who is secretly in love with Paul Latour, supervisor of the rival Northern Lumber Company - the very outfit that would like to see her father dead. The romantic rivalry between the Drifter and Latour with culminate in a violent outburst of shocking revelations, retribution and death.

William Farnum gives a spellbinding and haunting performance backed by a fine supporting cast which includes Noah Beery and Russell Hopton. Farnum achieved fame on the stage playing Ben-Hur in 1900. Between 1915 and 1925, he became a huge motion picture star, earning an astronomical $10,000 a week in pictures such as Drag Harlan (1920) and If i Were King (1921). He is honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
