Harry Wingate (Sam Elliot), a rugged adventurer, is hired by a gem collector to retrieve a priceless opal, known as "The Blue Lightning," from Lester McInally (Robert Culp), a super-criminal with an army of killers operating in the Australian outback. When Wingate confronts McInallyat his base in Opal Ridge, he is nearly killed. He recovers, thanks to the efforts of an aboriginal tribe and they end up joining forces for a final deadly showdown with McInally.The film features the stunning Australian outback as it`s backdrop, but viewers will find themselves feeling like they are watching a western.
