Norman and Lucy, a young married couple visit their friend Paul, who has married Isabel in the Basque region of Spain. Hidden away in the middle of a forest, and very much off the beaten track, the house seems ideal for some peaceful holidays. While out hunting, the two men come across an abandoned house and discover a deformed, animalistic girl chained inside. They try to help her by taking her away from the home in which she is locked, but the local villagers, who have to protect the girl, start a pursuit in the forest they know much better than the visitors.

une réalisation simple et efficace dans ce thriller aux fonds des bois. Pas d'artifices, pas d'effets spéciaux mais une ambiance terriblement lourde. Gary Oldman impeccable. Un bémol tout de même : un dénouement trop à la hate.

Ein fader NAchgeschmack bleibt nach dem Film. Er ist für mich unvollendet, Fragen bleiben offen und abruptes Ende. Aus diesem Stoff hätte man leider viel viel mehr rausholen können! GAry Oldman kann sich irgendwie nicht entfalten und verschwindet leider zu schnell....Schade, leider nur mittelmässig.
