Linda Blair delivers a flawless performance as Chris Parker, a 14-year-old repeat runaway who has been detained by police. When her father refuses to take her back, Chris is made a ward of the court and sent to the State Home for Girls. There, she falls victim to an indifferent juvenile justice system that cannot help the troubled teens it merely warehouses. Critics called Born Innocent "raw and uncompromising". This DVD edition includes a graphic rape scene considered so shocking on its initial NBC network broadcast that it was cut from subsequent syndication prints.
