Two strangers, both folk musicians grounded in California, take a road trip across America in the days after 9/11.

Elliott and Joni first meet on a plane. Bound for New York. On the morning of September 11, 2001. When all flights are grounded, the two strangers are thrown together amidst the chaos of that day. Both desperately needing to get back to New York, together they embark on a cross-country road trip in a 1972 Chevy Van.
