I tre episodi della seconda stagione sono, come sempre, liberi riadattamenti di tre racconti di Doyle. Il primo -“A scandal in Belgravia” - è un chiaro riferimento al racconto “Scandalo in Bohemia” dove Sherlock Holmes viene convocato dal Re di Boemia per recuperare alcune fotografie compromettenti. Il secondo - "the Hound of Baskerville" - non può che richiamare “Il mastino dei Baskerville” e i misteri della brughiera inglese infestata dal presunto gigantesco animale. L'ultimo episodio - “the Reichenbach Fall” - è un omaggio al racconto “L'ultima avventura”, pubblicato nel 1893 e che, a differenza di quanto visto nella serie, rappresenta anche la prima apparizione del Professor Moriarty.

    Auch die zweite Staffel ist einfach unglaublich! Geniale Schauspieler! Allen voran Benedict Cumberbatch, der einfach brilliant ist! Aber auch Martin Freeman, Lara Pulver, Andrew Scott etc. ! Danke an Steven Moffat und Mark Gatiss für diese geniale Umsetzung!
