The year is 1932, the place is India, and the people are romanticised, politicised and radicalised. They are drawn together and driven apart by class, race, love and theft, and the world around them is changing. In the small British colony of Simla, placed at the foothills of the Himalayas, the beliefs of the British Empire still remain but the young are hungry for freedom.
Indian Summers tells a sweeping saga, stories of love, secrets, promises made and broken, and tensions that simmer in the hot, feverish days and nights of India - an India populated by freedom fighters, star-crossed lovers, political spies, artists, orphans, expats, the rich and the poor.
