Abigail Clayton (Selma Blair) lives alone. Very alone. In fact, the heiress has not left her Manhattan apartment for almost two decades. When the death of her elderly neighbor prompts NYPD Homicide Detective Frank Giardello (Giovanni Ribisi) to launch an investigation, the agoraphobic Abigail is distressed to find him outside her door, questioning her. Having tried to acquire the now vacant apartment to ensure her privacy, Abigail is further upset when new tenants Lillian (Amy Smart) and Charlie (Jason Lee) move in. Abigail anxiously monitors her new neighbors from the safety of her front door's peephole, but her well-ordered world begins to unravel when she finally encounters Lillian and Charlie face-to-face and her sheltered existence becomes threatened in unexpected and terrifying ways.

Die traumatisierte Millionenerbin Abigail lebt seit Jahren zurückgezogen in ihrer Wohnung am Columbus Circle - einer ebenso schicken wie teuren Wohngegend in Manhattan. Abigail leidet an einer psychischen Krankheit, die sie beim Betreten weiter Räume in panische Schockstarre versetzt. Kontakt zur Aussenwelt pflegt sie per Internet, Telefon und mit Hilfe des Concierges Klandermann, der Einkäufe und Erledigungen für sie tätigt. Als ein Nachbar unter ungeklärten Umständen verstirbt, wird sie vom ermittelnden Detective Giardello vorgeladen - für Abigail ein Alptraum. Als wenig später das zwielichtige, laut streitende und offenbar mörderisch veranlagte Pärchen Lillian und Charles in die freie Wohnung einzieht, wird Abigail immer tiefer einen Strudel aus Gewalt und Intrigen gezogen ...

    A corriger !!!

    Mais mis à part ça, c'est un bon film !
    J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir.
    Assez original. L'héroïne du film fait à la fin ce que d'habitude les méchants font dans des films. (le changement d'identité)

    Un duo d'actrices principales impeccable.
    Selma Blair face à Amy Smart, c'est un régal.

    Le générique de début est superbe.
    Puis, le film démarre bien.
    Ensuite, quelques longueurs m'ont fait peur.
    Mais ça se rattrappe bien et la fin est géniale.
    Un très bon moment de suspense.
