hoping to be dealt a new hand in life, ex-con jack sweeney (james marshall) is prepared to get a real job and go straight. rejected and discouraged, he walks into a job of another kind: a scam which leaves jack in possession of counterfeiting plates worth millions! having had no luck with legitimate jobs, jack turns to his old partner in crime (michael madsen) to help him turn a quick profit. caught in a dangerous hunt between a mob boss (dennis hopper), a federal agent (william forsythe), and an underworld crimelord, jack gets a little help from the girl of his dreams with connections of her own. but in this high-stakes game of love and money, it will take more than dreams to beat the luck of the draw.
